AdBlock – What is It?
AdBlock is a program written only for the Mozilla Firefox web browser. It is used to block advertisements on websites. It does this by recognizing that an advertisement is being downloaded and then blocking its download into the browser. If seeing advertisements on web pages bothers you, then this might be a good program to have and a reason to use the Mozilla Firefox web browser.
There is a down side to using AdBlock, though. These days many websites depend on the revenue they receive from the advertisers to keep them up and running. In response to AdBlock blocking their advertisements, and thus taking away from their revenue, some websites will not let you have a functioning web page if you are using AdBlock.
